Yes Phil, that is how it is now.

In the middle of the pool there is a small island. If you are lucky you will see a heron sitting on the island. The heron stands as still as a statue.

Thanks for that. :)

Naa, no cars there, it's not a traffic island, it's real grass and soil - them funny stuffs what keep getting buried by concrete and tarmac....can you remember them John - I know they have to make their own in Holland by robbing the seabed - but you must have a garden, or at least a balcony or windowbox  ;D O0

John,

Moseley, a word to savour, a fleeting taste of a land ''beyond B H" where there were trees but the dogs were so well bred they popped into the loo before being taken for a walk.

A lot of the people up there in Moseley didn't breathe air like us (no fog) they respired until they expired.  None of the shops accepted cash, they didn't have a strap or the slate, their ''patronage'' had monthly accounts that were hand delivered with appropriate bows and scrapes, just like the butcher delivered them half a pound of sausages and a quarter of ham.

Ask denise, she used to live there - just think, what a privilege we enjoy, somebody from Moseley deigns to post on the same forum as us, denizens of that dangerous and forsaken place 10 stops down the Moseley Road..... ;D ;D ;D

The original house was built by a newly married couple. They went on honeymoon to sorrento and named the house the same.

So romantic :)

Picture of it in this thread.

...aaah, shades of an upmarket ''Dunroamin''.  My first wife wanted to call our first house ''Leone Lodge'' because we met there (Sierra Leone) and it was detached and ''set back'' - I cringed and it stayed as plain old No 1...........Avenue
