I remember the Waverley Hotel was at the top of New Meeting Street and the coffee bar we went to was just a bit further down.It must have been the Stage Door although it wasn’t called that when we went there.

The "Stage Door" cafe was at 12 New Meeting Street and in the early 60's it was called the "Beefie" cafe.

Does anybody remember a cafe, either in Cannon Street or Needless Alley, on the right going towards New Street.?
You entered and went down stairs to a basement area.
Very popular at lunchtimes.

There was a Sams Cafe near the bottom of Needless Alley that opened in about 1966/67.

Thanks Phil,
This would have been 1957/8/9 when I remember it.
Perhaps the one I remember became Sams Cafe?
