Hi, brino1962. depends on which and were the baths youre thinking about was,  ( balsall Heath area had two) that I used a lot the one on the Mosley Rd by Clifton Rd and Edward Rd, ( which are still there by the way ) and the ones in Kent St, ( I dont know if they are still there,?).......... ;D

Who had bovril and dipped cheesettes in it after you had been swimming in the cafe?

This would be the other one then, I haven't been down Grove Lane since the start of the eighties. Are the baths still there?

Hi Carolina

Welcome to our little happy band that is Birmingham Forum . I have to say I wasn't keen on Bovril. I used to have cocoa and ginger nuts. Remember those 4 for a penny.

Phil, dont know if Grove Lane baths are still there but i cant see it. Council seem very reluctant to spend money on these old baths as Leisure Centres seem more cost effective .....Rob

Sorry I forgot that the Council had got to find £60 million to finance a new pool in a deprived area of the City.

It makes you laugh, I would hardly call the area at the back of the NIA deprived especially after the amount of money that has been spent on it in the last 10 years.

I see Sparkhill baths closed the other day, I can't see them ever opening again. What I would like to know is how much it will cost to get into these new baths (After 2012 that is). Around £30 I suppose.
