The last tram journey in Birmingham was from Steelhouse Lane to Erdington on July 4th 1953.

Peter Russell, he went to Australia in 1967. Peter and Billy Heeks. I am not sure of your age but I am 63 now.

Hi Maria,

I am only slightly older than you, I'm afraid I don't recall any of the names mentioned but I used to go there with my best mate (and his family) who eventually became my brother in law. His family came out of Woodfield Rd and lived next door to the Secretary of the Club who's name I still can't remember. As I say we didn't go there all that often really, but if you were only 12 months or so younger than me, I'm amazed I don't recall you.

Hi Phil,
I was easily missed.  :D
Mousey blond, glasses and as fat as a match >:(

But I did enjoy my time there.
We used to go upstairs and watch the telley sometimes.
I was really scared of that staircase, it was really creepy and dark .

Hi Maria

I bet it wasn't as creepy as the cellar of the Brunswick Club a few doors away. I often crossed paths with the resident ghost when I was down there.

When you guys are talking about William Henry St, do you mean William Edward St, which was round the corner from Angelina St, because I don't remember a William Henry St, by there.
