These photos look like maybe Vaughton St,the one building looks quite old
William Edward St has gone, there is a school where it stood, Angelina St still remains, or most of it, where St Martins flats were is all new housing, and there is a little close named William Edward Close, because they wanted to keep the name local, the close is off Angelina St, at the bottom near where the corner would have been, Conybere St also remains and Dymoke St.

It is Nechells the junction of Rocky lane and William henry street, the pub is Shannons but it used to be called the Hen and Chickens. I should'nt have posted in haste, but when I saw the title I did so sorry for the confusion.

Mal

Here is an old snap of the Hen and Chicks, I think the other street photo must be Cheston St across Rocky Lane.

My Dad's family had a business in Angelina Street, must have been in the 50's and early 60's, it was called R Rogers & Co and sold building materials - they were master plasterers, I remember as a little kid going there with him sometimes to pick up invoices.  It must have closed down in the 60's though or become something else. Hi Julie

I see you managed to make your post in the end, see I told you it was easy. The 1950 edition of Kelly's Trade Directory records R Rogers & Co Ltd Builders Merchants at 70 Angelina St.

I don't think I remember your fathers business, but there are others on here slightly older than myself that might.
